Biography
At the age of four, Anique started dancing at Astrid Huyzen’s Heemskerkse Balletschool, where, till 1994, she attended various classes, such as jazz ballet, freestyle tap dance and classical ballet.
From 1994 till 2003 Anique attended the Dutch National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam, where she graduated and obtained here (bachelor’s) degree in dance.
From 1995 till 2002 she participated in productions of The Dutch National Ballet, such as Romeo & Juliet, Swan Lake, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.
In 1999 Anique followed a course at the Royal Ballet School of Antwerp and in 2000 she won the “Dancer’s Foundation Prize”, which involved a summer course at the Royal Ballet School in London.
In 2001 she followed a course at Rosella High Tower in Cannes.
Anique toured with the dance program Voetsporen van de Dans from Januari till May 2002, which was in co-operation with The Dutch National Ballet. In this program she danced the Blue Bird pas-de-deux from Sleeping Beauty.
Aalto Ballett Theater
The first contract Anique closed was with dr. Martin Puttke’s Aalto Ballett Theater in Essen, Germany. Here she starred in Mario Schröder’s The Wall, Birgit Scherzer’s Mein Ithaka, Boris Eifmann’s Requiem and Heinz Spoerli’s Sacre du Printemps. She also went on tour to Brno in the Czech Republic with her performance in The Wall..
In Essen she also performed a number of times with the Strauss-Ballet in the period from September 2003 till July 2004.
Die Schöne und das Biest
In 2004-2005 Anique made her debut in the musical world with La Belle Musical Produktions Gmbh/BB Promotion in Germany. In the musical Die Schöne und das Biest she performed a classical pas-de-deux, was the understudy for the part of “Cello” and danced with the ensemble.
Robin Hood
In 2005-2006 Anique was again connected with La Belle Musical Produktions GmbH in Germany and took part in the World premier of Robin Hood Für Liebe und Gerechtigkeit in Bremen.
Cats in Holland
On October the 7th 2006 was the premier of the world-famous musical Cats in the 'Nieuwe Luxor Theater' in Rotterdam, starring in a production by Joop van den Ende, in wich Anique took on the role of Victoria, 'The White Cat'.
Bencha Theater
Anique is part of an arial/dancecompany Bencha Theater in Holland. She is performing at various events and festivals with arial acrobatics in tissue (silks) and ringobjects combined with ground-acrobatics and dance.
Cats (UK tour)
In 2008/2009 Anique was swing in the UK-tour of the musical Cats. The performances were in Cologne and Frankfurt (Germany). She played the parts Victoria (White cat), Tantomile and Cassandra.
Best of Musical Gala 2010
Early 2010 Anique toured with Best of Musical Gala 2010 along all major cities in Germany. The show consisted of 8 big musicalstars and 16 dancers who starred in 18 different musical pieces. Including Chicago, West Side Story, Tarzan and Lion King. In the Dirty Dancing piece, she danced the role of Penny. The show opened with Pippin where she performed a ring-act in the air.
Cats (German tour)
On January 6, 2011 was Anique opening the German tour in Hamburg of the musical Cats, in the role of Victoria (the White cat). This time the show is performed in a big black tent and the audience sits around the stage like the original version on the West End in London.
